Syreeta's Birth Story

“I want this time to be different,” Syreeta told me over the phone. She had a rocky first birth and was ready for a new experience this go-round. When walking into her home, the atmosphere was unlike any I’d ever encountered. It was loud. Nineties R&B filled the air along with the sound of laughter. We honored and supported this laboring mother by dancing, singing aloud, and laughing together. She labored intensely with her husband, doula Faith (Royal La Mere Birth), and midwives My Sister’s Keeper.
